SU Pros Host Free Shrimp, Halibut Seminars

Two of Salmon University’s pros will lead a free shrimp and halibut seminar this month at Seattle’s Outdoor Emporium. The event is scheduled for Saturday, April 21 with the shrimp portion running from 10:00 a.m. to noon, and halibut starting at noon.

Tom Nelson, publisher of Salmon University and known throughout the Northwest as the “Dean” of Salmon Fishing will teach you everything you need to know about shrimping and crabbing, including rules and regulations, how to pick your fishing grounds, how deep to fish, how to pick a shrimp/crab pot and what kinds of weights to use, what kind of line and how much to use, the best way to attach your lines, the best baits to use and how to properly mix them, how to handle your catch and recipes for your catch.

Terry Rudnick, author of How To Catch Trophy Halibut, winner of more than two-dozen awards for his writing and photography, and frequent columnist for the Salmon University website will teach you tips, techniques and strategies for the upcoming Halibut season.

Outdoor Emporium is located at 1701 4th Avenue South, Seattle.
