Ocean Waves Sunglasses
Polarized Perfection

Almost
all of us use sunglasses at one time or another, but most don't
realize how beneficial and important it is to use sunglasses more
often.
First
and foremost, sunglasses offer protection to your eyes. Our sight
is so important this should be a no brainer. We need to protect
our eyes not only physically, but from the harsh elements, glare
and UV light.
Another
key benefit of sunglasses is the ability to actually see better.
Ocean Waves technology not only cuts out the glare, but actually
makes images, and fish, sharper.
I
started wearing Ocean
Waves in 2006. I do wear prescription glasses and was looking
for sunglasses that would be best suited for fishing. I stumbled
upon Ocean Waves by chance and thought I'd give them a try.
With
my first pair I ordered Amber lenses and they actually work excellent.
There is more of a benefit on the river than the ocean, but they
have been wonderful
I
have purchased prescription sunglasses before that were polarized,
but it wasn't until I wore my first pair of Ocean Waves that I
truly experienced how polarized lenses "should" perform.
They opened up a whole new experience for me as I could see fish
and other objects beneath the surface that I couldn't see before.
Ocean
Waves are 100% polarized. You would think that all sunglasses
labeled as polarized are 100%, but the fact is they are generally
only a fraction of that. The process Ocean Wave's uses allows
for complete 100% polarization, and also 100% of UV blockage.
This is something you have to see to believe! And see you will,
the lenses are so good on all Ocean Waves that it actually enhances
your vision, reduces fatigue and makes your wearing their sunglasses
a pleasure.
Ocean
Waves also boasts the best anti-reflective technology available.
The value of this is priceless when on the water. While other
sunglasses have an anti-reflective coating sprayed or baked on,
the anti-reflective properties of the Ocean Wave lenses are state-of-the-art.
Seven coatings of magnesium hexafluoride are thermally applied
by a unique vacuum process to the inside of the lens to ensure
absolute consistency. They absorb the “bounce-back” of glare and
U.V. light.
The
lenses are also highly scratch resistant with coatings applied
not only to the front of the lens, but also the back. Just think
how important this is when on the salt! Try and find another manufactured
that can say the same.
While
all Ocean Waves glass lenses have the same polarization and U.V.
protection the mirrored lenses block more glare when the light
is intense. They come in Offshore Blue, Backwater Green, and Crown
Royal Luminator. Offshore Blue is a gray lens, Backwater Green
is amber, and Crown Royal Luminator is yellow. They also offer
non-mirrored lenses in gray and amber.

Now
that my prescription has changed, I opted to go for two new pair.
Both are the new Atlantic
Beach II which Ocean Waves designed specifically for fishermen.
They offer 360 degrees of protection, wrapped styling blocking
unwanted side light. Matched with air vents to prevent fogging
and soft rubber temple tips to eliminate soreness and headaches
caused from tight temple tips, the Atlantic Beach II brings you
the ultimate in protection, comfort, and durability.
Taking
the advice from Kevin Carlson, owner of Ocean Waves, I chose Backwater
Green for the rivers, and Offshore Blue for the ocean.
These
new glasses are superb! Once adjusted, I don't even physically
notice I have them on they're so comfortable, and the sight is
nothing less than perfect.
Worried
about fit? Don't be. Mine didn't fit the way I wanted them to
when they arrived. But, a quick trip to a local department store
optical department and the Optician was more than happy to mold
the frames to my face. Again, now they fit so well I don't even
realize I have them on.
An
interesting comment from the Optician. When she was adjusting
them she told me these were the best lenses she'd ever seen in
a pair of sunglasses and asked for the brand.

Waves has to offer and get a pair for yourself. You owe your
eyes the best!
